The following
are a selection of the talks I have given recently, which have been successful:
1. 'Thirty Years
of Weaving'
A talk explaining my philosophy and approach to weaving, illustrated with
slides of the fabrics I have woven during 30 years at the loom.
2. 'How to Design Fabrics'
Using the many samples of fabrics I have woven in my life, I discuss the
criteria that need to be considered when designing a woven fabric. - Colour,
Yarn, Fibre, Sett, Weave and Finishing. This is a hands-on audience interactive
talk.
3. 'Practical
Rug Weaving'
This talk discusses practical methods and gives practical tips to enable
weft faced floor rugs to be woven successfully. Topics covered include:
Warp yarns, Sett, Warping techniques. Dressing techniques, Selvedges,
Weaving techniques and Weave structures.
4. 'Colour in
Fabrics'
The ways of colouring yarn and fabrics is discussed and illustrated
with the use of fabric samples. Hints and tips of how to decide on exciting
colour schemes are covered.
