Commission Weaving

INDIVIDUALLY DESIGNED FABRICS FOR CLOTHING AND INTERIORS

I offer a personal design and weave service, producing innovative and unique one-off textiles of superb quality. I aim to create textiles with stunning colours, unusual textures, beautiful handle, and yet have total practicality in their use.

COMMISSIONS - TERMS OF BUSINESS

Weaving commissions are undertaken as follows:

1. Initial consultation is free and if we are to proceed it will be followed by a written design brief as understood and a written estimation of the costs.

2. On your written confirmation that a weaving is to be commissioned, I will design the cloth and present drawn design ideas, with examples of yarn/colour. A charge of £150 will be made for this service. This will act as a non-returnable deposit, which will be deducted from the final account when the commission is accepted.

3. Warps of woven design ideas will be produced at a charge of £150 each.

4. THE COMMISSION WILL BE HANDWOVEN.
The fees for the actual weaving are worked out as follows:

Weaving cost per metre is dependent on sett of cloth:
Setts of between 10epi/ppi – 20epi/ppi £75/yard
Setts of between 24epi/ppi – 40epi/ppi £100/yard

In addition
There is a minimum setting up charge for handwoven lengths:
For fabrics of a width between 10 inches – 30 inches £200
For fabrics of a width between 30 inches – 44 inches £300

Material costs in addition to the above. Materials are charged at cost if coloured, but if dyeing is required dyeing time will be charged at a cost of £25 per hour.

The final account will be payable on receipt of the cloth.
